Caballero! A frequent sight around Esperanza - young men (usually) riding horses. You'll also come across horses wandering around loose on the island roads, and occasionally in town. Once or twice a year there is a "Pasa Fino" competition on the island. Pasa fino literally means "fine steps", and is a kind of elegant walk/trot that horses are trained to do. Riders ride the horses down a wooden pavement and are judged on the precision of the horse's walk and rhythm. In the background, a French restaurant under construction, since opened as Serena Restaurant. |
