Jetty

On the north side of Vieques, near the airport, the Navy built this very long Jetty that goes about a mile out into the sea. At one time there was talk of building a causeway all the way to the main island of Puerto Rico (about seven miles), but it never happened.

Some quite good snorkeling along the left hand side of the jetty where there is a small beach and you can often find calm seas on otherwise windy days.
